The program will provide hands-on educational experiences including exhibits, laboratory, and classroom activities for pre-college students, preparing them for advanced 21st century energy technologies, as well as, a fun-day field trip. Apply Now!!

 Sustainable Energy Car

2007 Sessions:

 

Session 1: July 16—July 20, 2007
9th and 10th Graders
(Must have completed 8th grade by June 2007)

Session 2: July 23-July 27, 2007
11th and 12th Graders
(Must have completed 10th grade by June 2007)

 

Students will have fun exploring:

  • How fuel cells work.
  • The different ways of powering fuel cells.
  • How fuel cells can be used to power homes, cars and buses.
  • How to build a fuel cell car and wind turbine from a kit (take home project).
  • How solar, hydro and wind power can be used.
  • Careers in sustainable energy.

Activities to Include:

  • “The Need for Sustainable Energy & Hybrid Technology”
  • “Biofuels”
  • “Geo-Hydro Energy”
  • “Electrochemical Energy”
  • “Fuel Cells/Hydrogen Safety”
